I have owned many different carrier between my 2 kids [2.5 years old and 2 months old]. This is one of my favorites. The padding in the shoulder area makes it comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I love that it is quick to put on and put baby in securely - especially while I am also managing a toddler. I have worn my daughter in this many times over the past 2 months - around the house, to the cider mill, shopping, art fairs, etc. She almost instantly falls asleep when I put her in this. My back/shoulders do start to get a little sore after I have been wearing her for over an hour, but I haven't found a carrier where that doesn't happen. With an active toddler, it is so nice to be able to put my daughter in this and then I can play with my son, make dinner, etc.

I have also used the moby wrap [which I hated - took forever to put on and was so much fabric!], baby k'tan [ok, but not as quick as the maya wrap], babyhawk mei tei [i like this one too, but my daughter dooesn't like it yet], angelpack [also ok, but my daughter likes the maya better], ergo [my husband likes this one better - i think mostly because it doesn't look as feminine], and traditional slings [ok but they definitely bother my shoulders and back a lot quicker and they aren't adjustable]. Also, the maya wrap is the easiest one to breastfeed while wearing because the tail can be used as a nursing cover.

I wish I had found the maya wrap when I had my son, but I will definitely get a lot of use out of it now.

I bought this when my baby was 8 months old and I needed it for traveling. It's a great concept and since before I had a chid I always imagined myself carrying my baby in one of these. They just look too cute and comfy... however, I did not find that to be the truth. This may be perfect for quick shopping trips if you don't want to carry the carseat or put the baby in the shopping carts. Anything longer than 30 minutes starts hurting your shoulders and back, no matter how small the baby is. I couldn't really use the wrap ... so I am actually returning it. The material is very soft, sturdy and the blue color is great, it just wasn't for me. I know a lot of people find a wrap to be very useful and comfy, not me though. Plus when I did try to use it around the house, my baby kept wiggling around and didn't want to stay in there... but that's just him... I am not saying all babies will do that! If you are looking for a wrap, try this one, you may love it. It is a nice one!

Love this wrap and so does the little one. Put her in walk around and she's asleep in no time and i have my hands free to do whatever needs to be done.
